A VISION FOR SUMNER

BUILDING BETTER TOGETHER

MEET BILL PUGH

Bringing Real Change to Sumner

I am extremely proud to be a resident of Sumner. The progress made by Mayor Hayden, the City Council, and staff in addressing critical issues is truly commendable. We need to continue to provide essential police protection, develop necessary street, pedestrian, bicycle, and trail facilities, maintain critical water and sewer utilities, enhance our park facilities, and complete habitat restoration projects.

Since my Sumner Mayoral term ended in 2021, I have worked with the Pierce County Library System and the School District to secure funding for: a new Sumner library, rebuilding the rest of Sumner High School, and improving Daffodil Sports Field as part of school district-wide enhancements.

Moving forward, fostering community growth while preserving our small-town character is crucial. We need to support our historic downtown, so it can continue to receive national recognition for its charm, events, and parades. Sustaining and building partnerships with other public and private entities will help us meet these challenges.

My entire career has been dedicated to successfully building community through partnerships, consensus, and diligent effort. I would be honored to continue these efforts as your Mayor once again.

"Bill has supported me throughout my term as Mayor. And he hasn’t been sitting around the last three years. He’s led the citizen campaigns to build a new Sumner Library, pass a School District Operating Levy, and pass a School District Bond issue to build and upgrade needed school facilities (including Sumner High School). He has always worked to support the community. I totally support his re-election!"

Kathy Hayden - Mayor, City of Sumner
